It depends what sort of discharge...

If it is a greenish or yellow colored discharge then that would indicate infection.

If it is a greyish discharge and not refquent then that is relatively normal (though should be looked at just incase)

If it is after the pup has been sleeping then that is also relatively normal.

Thanks a lot shazamataz... My puppy has a brown/redness on the lachrymal area of his right eye... The Vet saw it last week and prescribed him an ointment which made it better but it´s still there (the color is softer)... I´ve just contacted the Vet again an asked me if he has a discharge... I didn´t know what to answer... it´s like he had hurt himself with his paw, but I think he didn´t...

Is your pup scratching at his eye that you can see?

It may just take time for the irritation to go away. Is there discharge now? What colour?
