    Changing child's name
Can you tell me if the law has been updated in Arkansas... I too have a son who would like his name changed... but he is 13 and his father is not around also... Can I have it changed without father's consent?

First its not a good idea to piggyback your question on someone else's. This can lead to confusion. You should start a new thread. So I've moved your question to its own thread.

Second, did you try reading what was said in the other thread? Especially checking out the link and the citation of the law? This is not a law that is likely to be changed.

A birth certificate is a legal document and cannot be changed except by court order. Courts will not order such a change without the agreement of the parents.

First... I know that... I know that you have to go to court.
Second... And I am sorry I did not ask the question in the right place...
Third... And like I said... as the law been updated... her question was from a few years ago... I believe...

Yes, but if you checked the link, you would have seen the law hasn't changed. Like I said, this is unlikely to be something that would change.
