My daughter is 4 years old and will be 5 next month. My husband is the only father that she has known since she was 6 months old because the bio-father had his rights taken away from him because he's a sex offender. You start with a lawyer. Since the biological father's rights have already been terminated, you should have no problem moving forward with a step-parent adoption.
