I have a live in boyfriend and I want to know the legal way to kick him out. He's not on my lease but does pay 1/3 of the rent. Should I give him the month he paid for and remove him after that and if so what about all of his stuff?

YOU have to serve him notice and give him 30 days... if he won't leave you have to file for eviction... and no you can't lock him out or toss or keep his stuff.

Same rules/laws apply that apply to any tenant/Landlord situation. Keep in mind if you violate them he could use the laws against you as well... so be careful and do it the right way.

Which makes him a month-to-month lessee (subtenant).
