Can I tie into Kitchen drain from basement
    Hi,

I plan on putting a wet bar in my basement and want to know if I would be able to tie the bar sink drain into the kitchen drain coming from above? The kitchen drain looks like 2" PVC coming from upstairs and joins to a 3" pipe in the basement which goes directly into the concrete. From the height of the 3" pipe it seems that I would be tying into that one.

    Thanks!

You may connect the bar sink to the 3" main,(or the 2" kitchen stack ONLY if you run a vent on the bar sink. Regards, Tom

Thanks Tom. Would an air-admittance vent be okay for this purpose?

Yes a AAV venting the bar sink would be acceptable. I'm assuming no permit will be pulled and the job won't be inspected. If you've pulled a permit then check to see if local codes will allow AAV's. Good luck, Tom
