    Lesbian marriage
My girlfriend and I were talking about marriage, now we know that it is not like any other marriage. But what I am wondering is if we get married, can we share benefits etc?

    Benefits like "insurance "

First it will all depend where you live, same sex marriage is not accepted universally

    Hello J:

Couple things... If you live in a state that recognizes gay marriage, it IS just like any other marriage. If you don't, you can't GET married.

From my understanding, jersey you can, so from what I gather, we can share benefits once married? That's the part that confuses me the most.

    Hello again, J:

Well, I'm confused about what you mean by "sharing" benefits... Married people don't "share" benefits. Being married gives a spouse lots of benefits that roommates don't have. I'd Google marriage rights in New Jersey and see what you come up with...
