Red Letter bag at Post Office (UK)
I sent some mail from Belfast, UK, to Florida, United States, on the 4th Dec. In the Post Office the guy done what he needs to do, and tossed the letter into a big bag that said "Red Letters".

What is this classification? What is a red letter? I thought red letters were letters that companies sent to clients to tell them they need to pay up quick. Final notice kind of thing.. this letter was just a personal.

    Thanks.

It is simply a way of easily identifying where that bag should go to. Red letter usually indicates London, which is probably where your mail would go for forwarding to the US.
