Can I be pregnant with the Mirena?
I had my Mirena placed in May 2007 after the birth of my second child. I had my last period around August 2007. I have not bleed nor spotted since then. For the last 6/7 weeks I've been nauseated. I also bleed for a month straight after not having my period for 3 years. I am experiencing flutters in my stomach as well as racing heart beat and pounding heart. The last time I experienced any of these symptoms I was pregnant with my last child. I also went from 149 to 131 within 2 weeks. Again, the last time I lost weight like that I was pregnant. I had a pregnancy test done 2 days ago and it was negative. I am afraid that I am pregnant and don't know it. I called to get the Mirena removed and I was told it would be $200 since I no longer have insurance.

A woman knows her body the majority of the time. If I haven't felt these symptoms since my last pregnancy what could it be?

I want to get another pregnancy test done. Not to mention I didn't know I was pregnant with my last child until I was 6 months after 2 negative test.

If the test was a urine test, you may want to see about having a blood test done. Pregnancy can be a possibility.
If not pregnant, your doctor will want to check for other possible causes.

If you do not have insurance try planned parenthood. I felt the same way last year and I had no insurance at the time. I went to planned parenthood with my husbands pay stubs and they put me on a free plan for gyn services for one year. They checked everything out and said I was not pregnant, I did not have to pay anything.

So to update my previous post, I was not pregnant, but I wound up having a hemorrhagic cyst on my ovary. They tried to tell me that it wasn't from the Mirena but I know that is was. Ever since I received the Mirena in July 2007, I've been in enormous pain, even diagnosed with Lupus. I've had headaches EVERY DAY since I got the Mirena placed in. They've never once link'd ANY of my problems to the Mirena, nausea, pain, pregnancy symptoms, UTI's... etc. I am having it removed next week. I probably will not get any other form of BC besides a condom. BC changes your body's functions, I'd rather not deal with the side effects. I wish all you ladies luck!
