    Hi, I have a sex with my husband 10 days before my periods, is it safe to do sex without any protection before 10 days of periods ?

    There is no definitive way to answer this but here are some facts of reproduction that you can ponder.
    1) sperm can last a few days before getting fertilized with the egg and embedded into the lining of the uterus wall.
    2) if your cycle is short you can possibly ovulate within that time.
    3) you are never completely safe having sex without protection and every woman's body is different.

    *Main point to think about: If you really don't want to have children you really should be using some form of birth control, whether it be by condom, IUD, the pil or anything else like that, because it has been proven that the method of going by the monthly cycle is not always a good predictor of when you're actually going to be ovulating or when it is "safe" to have sex.

    Some times may be "safer" than others, but pregnancy will still be a possibility... even with protection. You can only lessen the odds by when you have sex and by using protection.
