    New baby and child support
    Hello,
My ex husband and I are divorced as of 5 years and I moved about 3 hours away and my son decided to stay with his father. I was ordered to pay 50.00 a week in child support and 60.00 a week in child care fee's. I recently had a baby and I'm doing it on my own. I can no longer afford 110.00 a week. My son is 6 and my ex husband and his new wife put him in a private school without consulting me and now they want me to pay half of his monthly tuition which is not in my budget. They both make well over what I do. Can I request that this 110.00 in support be lowered through the court? I make about 24,000.00 a year and 110.00 a week is just too much money for me. I'm not able to pay my own standard living expenses.

Yes, you can petition the court for lower payments. They don't necessarily have to grant your request though.

File a motion to have your payments lowered. The grounds would be the 2nd child you are about to have. You have just as much of an obligation to support this one as you do the first one so the court has to take that into consideration.
