    Hooking up an A/C
I'm In Qatar working with General Dynamics and I hooked up an A/C to local power, 220V Single Phase 50 herz. The A/C calls for 208/ 240 single phase 60 hertz. The A/C is running good but I fear it will not last. We do have a 60 hertz Gen its 3 phase 110v. I checked the plug on the A/C and there are three male prongs and I would guess that its Hot Neutral and Ground. Is it possible to use 2 hots and nuetral from the Gen (even though there only 120 degress out) . Will this give me 208.

The generator may only be 110 volt 3 phase, and not give 208 volt. Use a volt meter and check between two live legs and check what voltage is produced.
