My boyfriend pats and rubs his daughters butt almost daily. She's 17 and it gives me a sick feeling when I see him do it. It's hard for me to see him as sexy when he's touching his daughter's butt.

What country is this happening in... accepted norms vary greatly. It would help to know what culture we are talking about.

Just reading that doesn't sit well with me. Although Smoothy asked a very valid question, something like this doesn't seem right.

I'm not saying that there is anything going on with the two of them, or that he is a sick man, but I believe that she is too old for Daddy to pat and rub her butt.

As an American it doesn't set well with me, 7 is one thing... 17 is another... but I've lived abroad for enough years and do travel frequently and have seen other practices in other countries that are common that don't as well.

That is why I mentioned that you asked a valid question. I too have been to other countries, so I understand what you are saying.

I guess it really depends on their relationship and what they consider the norm. everybody has different ideas (within the social norm) of what is normal to them. As long as they are not taking it further it could just be a jesture of affection.
That said, if you are unconfortable with it you also have the right to voice it and hopefuly your hubby with aknowledge your concern and stop - he may not be aware that it bothers you. I do things that I don't think bother other people but as soon as they let me know it bothers them I respect their opinion
