    Water pump for well
When the water is turned on, pump clicks continually and there is a noise seems to be coming from the water tank.

Tank was drained about two weeks ago when safety switch tripped off the circuit breaker. Since then the pump goes on too often when we turn on the water.

Is this pump above ground or in the well? Since you recently drained the tank, I wouldn't think it would be the problem, so we start thinking about a defective checkvalve or footvalve. What happens is this. The pump gets up to shutoff pressure and turns off. The checkvalve is supposed to prevent the water in the pressure tank from simply flowing back down the wellpipe into the well. If it is leaking, then that will occur causing the pressure to drop which turns the pump back on. And the cycle just continues.
