My sister is an alcohol abuser but more than that she is insane. She stabbed herself 4 times in the arm last night to "Get Mom's attention"! She is verbally abusive (to put it mildly) She refuses to give Mom the phone when she gets a call. My Mother is scared that she will follow through with her suicide threats so she walks on egg shells to not upset her and she can't live with the stress much longer. She is 80 years old. She has been known to attack my Mother physically as well and she has osteoporosis severely and I fear for her safety. What in the name of God ccan we do to get her committed. Her children have even asked that we have her committed How do we do it? We live in Arizona.

Is there a doctor or medical person or social worker connected with the family who might know some family history and could intervene/advocate for you?

How old is your sister? Who owns the house your mother and sister live in? Do the kids live there too? Where is the father of the kids?
