How can I let my 2 month old baby sleep all night?
My baby stay crying from 8 pm till midnight to sleep . And if she slept at 10pm or 11pm she wakes up at 3am to eat. How can I let her sleep from 10 till 6 am?

It takes time. Babies need to eat more, even at night. Some babies sleep through the night fairly early, others can take longer.

My son slept through the night at 2 months, but my daughter didn't until she was over a year old.

This is part of having a baby, but don't worry, sooner or later she'll sleep through the night, you just have to be patient. :)

Babies don't have timers on them lol, otherwise the newborn stage would be a breeze! You really have to be patient, time rolls by quicker than you realise. My baby is 3months old, and although I feed him regularly, he still doesn't sleep through the night. Tis the wonderful world of babies :)

Burping enough before bed? Night light or not? Favorite toy? A music box stuffed animal that plays a lullaby that gets slower and slower?

Studies (videotaped in very low or no light) show a way to teach a baby to sleep... walk in the room and stand over the crib and say a soothing word and leave without picking her up. After several nights of this she should stop demanding to be picked up and should sleep. But 2 months might be too early.

2 months is way too early to be expecting your baby to sleep all night. Sure some do, but that's more the exception than the rule.

Here is what I tell my patients... Look at your baby's fist. That is the exact size of her stomach, so it's going to empty quicker than an older baby and the baby has to get fed more often.

Sorry, think I am lost about the part about letting the baby sleep from 10-6am. You said that she cries from 8 till midnight and then you said she sleeps at 10 or 11pm? Then back up at 3am? I maybe reading it wrong or something (have those moments at times) :O)... I will try to answer the best I can on what I think you maybe asking. If she tends to cry quite a lot and it sounds like it might be a short while after eating, could it be that she isn't getting enough that isn't feeling her up? Some babies even that young have a bit of cereal in their bottle (it is VERY watered down baby cereal) but that sometimes helps. I have a good friend who has a baby and she had to do that. I would ask the doctor first though. Also, if you know she is getting enough, and she if crying, maybe she has a gas bubble and it hurts. Have you tried Gas drops for babies? Everyone that I know that has tried them swears by them. You can get them over the counter. Also, found a cute website that talks about children sleep patterns at different ages, break down on each age and issue that might come up. Found it kind of neat and you might find it useful. http://www.slumbersounds.com/baby-sl...terns-info.htm Good luck... hope you get some sleep, yourself. :O)

At 2 months of age no cereal should be given. Only formula or breast milk. Feeding food, even extremely "watered down baby cereal" sets the baby up for a number of problems primarily food allergies.

Well, that maybe what you have been told by your doctor. BUT others have been told differently, by theirs. I know people that were told to start juice and baby food earlier than I had been told. I am not a doctor so I can just go by what I was told.

Checking what I typed and what you copied... looks like you may have missed the part where I said I would ask a doctor first. I would assume most would and not rely the word of a stranger.

    Your doctor is wrong.

There are many reasons a 2 month old child should not be consuming anything but formula or breast milk. To advise the OP to give cereal to her 2 month old baby can actually be harmful.

Babies cannot digest solid food. Even if it is watered down it can still cause problems.

When my son was 2 months old my mother suggested I add pablum to his diet. I was weary. I talked to my pediatrician and he said absolutely not.

There are many risks when giving a baby solid foods too soon.

J9 is a nurse, so when it comes to taking stranger advice, listen to the experts, those that actually do this for a living, and aren't just guessing or going by some old beliefs passed down from their mothers.

Heck, my mother in law told me to give my infant son honey to soothe him. Thank God I didn't listen to her!

Here's a good link that tells you exactly what to feed baby and at what ages.

What I wrote was... I have a good friend who has a baby and she had to do that. I would ask the doctor first though... its an opinion. From one mother to another. I nursed until mine were 17 months, wasn't telling her to, just said to ask, her doctor.

Jellybean, you didn't only tell her to ask her doctor, you did advise to add cereal to her formula. That is not factually correct information. I don't know one doctor that would recommend adding solids to a 2 month old babies diet. It's a well known fact that a baby of 2 months cannot digest solid foods, even watered down. At 2 months the only things a baby should be receiving are formula and breast milk.

I gave you a disagree (reddie) because your post is factually incorrect, and your advice could harm the OP's baby. You did not have any cause to give me a reddie, because my post was actually correct. Ask any medical professional.

Jelly1bean, I have to ask where you got your pediatric experience. I, for one, am a registered nurse and work with babies every night. I am trained to teach parents what to be avoided when feeding children.

Guess what. I'm the next best thing to a doctor. I'm the one who helps you understand, in layman's terms, what your doctor told you. I'm a NURSE. I've had a college education in this field, and this is my specialty.
