    Generator back feeding
I am running 220 volt 50 amp service from my house to my garage where there will be a receptical. I have a 50 amp breaker I nserted into the fuse box with 6-3 wire. The wire has 2 hot and a alumimum grounc. Now my generator ia a 5000 watt 41.7 amp single phase generator. How do I connect the wireing to backfeed from the generator through the 220 volt 50 amp receptical to power my house? Oviously the main breaker is off when generator is in use

Well actually the breaker is not known to be off for sure, or turned on by accident unless of course you use the proper system to connect with a auto shut off.

What is being proposed is not allowed. There must be either a manual or automatic transfer switch, or an interlocking device, that will mechanically insure the utility circuit breaker or line is open while the generator feed is energized.

Cannot rely on a human to insure the utility circuit breaker is open.
