    17 year old troubles
My 17 year old ran away because I took her Sim card for making a threatening phone call.I filed a petition for dependency because she was out of control. She was very abusive to everyone in the household. She was living with a woman who was buying her alcohol and cigarettes. CYF came to talk to me about the petition for dependency and they advocated letting her stay with this woman since she refuses to come home. When I told them my daughter was in danger there, they ask: "besides drinking, how do you feel your daughter is in danger?" My parental rights were never taken away.

Here's the kicker. Shortly afterward I received a letter telling me I would be financially responsible for her foster care (in other words, pay to have this woman furnish alcohol and cigarettes for my daughter). If anyone knows of a legal precedence that can help me out, please let me know. No wonder this country is going to hell when you can't even discipline your children non-abusively...

You could always move out of state with her.

She is already in state custody because of wrongful state interference w/o due process. How can I move out of state with a child who refuses to come home because I won't let her smoke and drink?

I guess I misread. But if you can find a way I think it would be good.
