    The great unwashed
Did you see where Katie Couric, anchor and managing editor of CBS Evening News, loves travelling among the " 'great unwashed' middle of the country" according to Rick Kaplan, her executive producer ? ( She is touring what she calls "this great unwashed middle of the country" in an effort to divine the mood of the midterms.)She also thinks that "American voters are slightly schizophrenic ".
Katie Couric On Her Contract, CBS, and Love of the Campaign Trail - The Daily Beast

When people ponder why 'some call it' the 'liberal elites' they should remember such sentiments .

Yes an unfortunate choice of terms on her part. It's not easy being part of the elite, I know this because I am of the elite.

Katie Couric is a joke that's past her prime and looks more like Tammy Fae Baker (remember her) every day...

    Hello tom:

I don't ponder that stuff. I just wonder why being unwashed also means being uneducated. Or, are you saying the unwashed, as uneducated as they are, are RIGHT and should RUN things?? Why would you think that?? You're not uneducated. Would YOU vote for Sharron Angle?? I know, I know... You would because you HATE Harry Reid... But, aside from that, you'd NEVER vote for that nincompoop...

(what did you say on the other op about the difference between and argument and a talking point? )

Sharron Angle.. You mean the 8 year member of the Nevada Assembly who graduated from the University of Nevada ? That uneducated "nincompoop "Sharron Angle ?
I get it .I really do . If their political positions don't toe the line then they are by nature stupid.

She sucks as an anchor as well... Her news show looks just like Pravda, regurgitating party propaganda...

I won't call what she does News (because Propaganda isn't news)... because she makes Dan Rather appear honest. Her (and by her I mean the entire crew)butchering and selective editing of the Sarah Palin "interview" was not only dishonest... it bordered on Libel and slander. Typical for Democrats where Facts never get in the way of what they want to show.

And who can forget her comments about getting all tingly and wet over Obama...

    Yep... real Objective she is...

So let me guess, you believe Fox News to be Fair and Balanced?

More objective and fair than CBS, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, NPR or NPR are... 99.99% of the time. Sure they have a little spin, like a gust... but far less than the tornado spin on the lefts news.

And having seen far too many cases where I've seen events (most can not be repeated or described) and saw the news coverage later I automatically don't believe what I see on the news from those sources. And that includes local news.

Ever see her on a 50"+ HD TV at a minimum of 1080i or better 1080p recently?

Can't hide much on that... you can count upper lip hairs on that... and see HEAVY makeup... along with the typical skin issues that come with age. No she's not a Rosie O'Donnel or Roseanne Barr, but then she's not a Jessica Alba either by a long shot.

I can see how much of Hollywood might not be too happy with HD TV, amazing what old analog TV was able to hide.

She is showing every year of her age... and then some. And you can Tell she's had at least one facelift.

No, but I somehow saw Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb go without makeup one day. Bad idea.

If I was on camera it wouldn't be a pretty picture either. HDTV may have the same effect on careers that 'talkies' had on the silent movie stars.

On the plus side... maybe younger girls won't be putting actresses up on pedestals as much as they have been, when they no longer look as perfect as they once did. And its clear they really aren't THAT much better than people they actually know, and sometimes worse.

    Hello again, tom:

Headline from today's NY Times: "Massive Windstorm Howls Across Nation's Midsection. An unusually strong jet stream from the Pacific Northwest propelled the storm, downing power lines in five states and forcing the cancellation of hundreds of flights at Chicago airports."

As you can see, the elites up here are doing our best to cleanse those poor, poor unwashed folks...

Lol Good thing weather travels West to East . I'm sure Chi-town would love to return the favor with some of their winter weather .

Strange that they can handle blizzards with almost identical conditions .But apparenty can't handle near similar conditions without the ice and snow .
