I had the same thing happen to me last month.. it starts as small blood clots rite off the bat in the frist 24hrs. Of my period. I have not been on birthcontrl in almost a year and that was the pill. And as my cycle keeps going the clots get bigger and there's more of them my cramps are so bad I can't even sleep even with takein ibforin. I have no idea what to do...

This is something that I would tell your GYN.

You might have to go back on birthcontrol to help regulate your periods.

I too at your age had bad cramping and clotting, and once I went on the pill, I noticed my periods had less pain, less clotting, as well as a shorter period.

    Tell your Doc.

What you are seeing is not clots at all. It is actually the lining of your uterus breaking off in chunks. This is normal. However, if the pain is becoming unbearable there are things you can do to alleviate the pain. The pill does help, as Enigma1999 stated. Ibuprofen is my drug of choice when cramping. Midol does nothing for me for some reason. I would talk to your doctor just to be safe. Good luck!
