    Couples matching. Too gushy?
I think that couples matching is corny, too gushy, and unbearingly not 'adorable'. My boyfriend wants us to get matching shirts and I really am just... speechless? Like, NO way! Am I being mean or is he just trying a little too hard for us to look adorable to everyone?

    It depends on the shirt.

If it's the super bowl and my partner and I are wearing the same Chicago Bears shirt, then cool.

How does he want to match with you? For what reason?

Yeah superbowl would be cool. But he wants us to have same shirts with his name on mine and my name on his. Or have a 'Mr and Mrs' type thing going on. And we wear it out together and probably have same style pants too.

Cupcake, I am right there with you. Personally I think it is a corny & tacky thing for couples to do. No, you are not "being mean" if you refuse to do it. It is apparent this idea makes you uncomfortable so that is what you should tell him. Tell him you love him but you are uncomfortable with the attention it will bring. There is no way around the fact that people will do a doubletake when you are out in public. You are not one unit but two individuals who happen to be in a loving committed relationship. You don't need to wear matching clothes to prove it.

I was getting a little obssessive about my ex-boyfriend's ex who lived in the same city. One day I saw her with her new boyfriend and they had matching shirts (AND sweaters!) My first thought was "Yay she is an idiot, I was worried for nothing!"

I think it's stupid and tacky (except a few examples listed above) and I would consider punching the boyfriend who would even dare asking me to do it :p

Lol, oh man. Okay! *sigh of relief* and I thought it was just me.
Thanks everyone! You're answers made me laugh.
On that note, I'm definitely not wearing it out in public.

If you don't want to do something, then don't. It is a very simple concept that you should come across EVERY time you have to make a decision. If he can't "survive" through your decision, then find someone who can :)

    Good Luck,
