    WinXP Home Log-on
I recently had to reinstall WinXP Home on my computer due to startup problems. After I reinstalled the OP using the WinXP Installation CD, whenever I startup the computer I immediately see the following screen: "Please select Operating System to Start: "Windows XP Home Edition - Windows XP Home Edition." In other words, the line shows up twice. It also gives me 30 seconds to respond or else it will select the first line. It appears I got myself into a multiboot log-on arrangement which I don't want. My questin is, how do I get rid of the second line? Thanks, Glenmere

    Re: WinXP Home Log-on
Click start, run, type 'msconfig', hit enter, and go to the boot.ini tab. I haven't done too much messing around with that but it looks like you can edit the bootloader options from there.

    WinXP Home Log-on
Thanks retsoksirhc for your input. It was very helpful. I do have one question though. I found the additional line in the boot.ini file through msconfig as you suggested, but now how do I get rid of it? There doesn't seem to be any way to delete it.

    Thanks, Glenmere
