    Christmas Gift for Him
So my online relationship is finally turning to reality as my military boyfriend is coming to visit me in less than two weeks. I am beyond excited. I'm really not nervous either. Come November, he will be meeting my family, I will be meeting his, and I will be attending a ball with him. So, come Christmas we will have been talking for about four months, and in a "Facebook Official" relationship for two months. I feel that it would be appropriate to give him a gift for Christmas, but I'm not really sure what to get, seeing as I've never really been in a relationship before around gift giving times. This guy and I have exchanged handwritten letters and packages over the past couple months... do you guys have any suggestions for a suitable Christmas gift?

What are some of his interests? What does he like?

    Hello g:

Microsoft just introduced the Kinect for the Xbox... It eliminates the game controller, and reacts to your movements. It watches your every move, and listens to what you say. It's the game interface we've been waiting for. It costs about $150.

No, I don't work for Microsoft, and no, it's not romantic... But, it IS cool, and he'll love you for it.

Oh yeah, that's an awesome gift. I always tell my girlfriend to get video game stuff because it's fun, relatively inexpensive, and I will use it.

He's really into like motorcross type stuff... like anything to do with motorcycles he loves. He also loves his truck... I don't know if itd be cool to get him some kind of accessory for his truck, like really cool floor mats or something... I don't want to be cheesy

Randomly ask him if he likes video games and get him a system (if he doesn't have one) and a First Person Shooter (FPS) type of game... so he will feel more at home :)

    Good Luck,

I can't really afford a gaming system... besides it wouldn't reallly be put to use for a while, considering he attends a military academy

How about a t-shirt or something else with a motorcycle motif? Let the card be the more personal part of the gift.

I know sometimes I see wooden motorcycles/cars/airplanes at stores like Marshalls and TJMaxx. They're really cool, and he could use them around his house/apartment.. That might be a thoughtful sort of gift.. Good luck deciding!

I think since this will be your first holiday together, your thought to get him something practical that he can use is a very good one. Romantic gifts can come later on as the relationship progresses. I also understand that you don't want to break the bank but want to get him something he will really appreciate.

You said he likes motorcross & motorcycle stuff. Does he own a motorcycle? If so, maybe this site will give you some ideas:
Motorcycle Superstore - Motorcycle Accessories and Motorcycle Gear Even if he doesn't own one, there are some cool bike jackets that you might find affordable.

If he doesn't own a bike, and you want to get him something he can use for the truck, this site might help you with ideas:
Quality Discount Truck Accessories and SUV Accessories - TruckChamp.

One definite idea that came to my mind: if money is tight for him, maybe purchase a gift certificate for either a tune up, oil change, tire rotation,. anything that is in line with getting some work done on his truck that will help to maintain it properly. Might not be romantic but it is practical.
