    Grade 11 Force Vectors
Three girls were pushing on a car with the following forces: 250 N [ East 15 degrees North], 300N [West 25 degrees South], and 200 N [South 30 degrees West]. What is the net force of these three girls on the car?

    1. Make a sketch, this will help you a lot.
    2. The simplest way is to resolve all the components of force along the East-West direction and the North-Sough direction.
    3. When you did that, find the resultant force in each direction.
    4. Use Pythagoras' Theorem to find the resultant of those two resultant forces.
    5. Use the tan ratio to find the direction of the resultant force.
