I just bought a Harbor Breeze fan and am having trouble with the wiring. There are two bare copper wires, a white, and a black wire coming from the ceiling, and my fan has a black, blue, white, and two green wires. I have the blue and black from the fan attached to the black ceiling wires, the green wires hooked up to the two bare wires, and the white to white. Is there any reason this shouldn't work? Or am I just screwing up the directions!

Make sure you are getting power to the ceiling first. Use a VOM to check voltage between Black and white and black and ground. You should get 110-120 Volts. If that is good, reconnect the wires as you did before, making siue that the wire nuts connect tightly. Putting twist wire and a solid wire under a wire nut can be hard, make sure the fan wires are twisted well and slightly longer than the power feed. Make sure the wall switch is on and that the pull switches are working, check the light. If all the wiring is right and you have voltage, you might have a bad fan motor. Not usual but possible.

Is there a wall switch for the light package?

This would be the ONLY way to wire it. Both the fan and light will work off the wall switch ad you have to choose fan and/or light and speeds by the pull chains.

If neither the fan nor light works then the power to the box has to be off.
