    Using Excel, how can I make an equation for the below mentioed example.
    Name Date
    George 5/1/2008
    Jessica 5/2/2008
    Sam 5/3/2008
    George 8/1/2008
    Jessica 5/5/2008
    Sam 5/6/2008

    How many rows (dates) falls during each month in year 2008 that corrospond a name.
    Answer: George should have 2, others are zero.

    You would be better off using a pivot table for this.
