My dad and mum split up before I was born, and he went and had another child, and I only found out recently and I've been trying everything to find her, my dad isn't telling me much info, so I've not got an awful lot to go on, I only know her first name, and no second name, her mums name, but again no second name, and she was born in peterlee, in county durham UK, I have no idea what to do, I've tried googling her so many times, but I can't find anything! :( can anyone help?

Do you know if they were married at the time the child was born? Also was there any hearings or judgements surrounding her as far as child support or visitation or anything like that?

No they weren't married, and no nothing like that as far as I know...

Have you tried going to the county where she was born and looking through the records? Its very hard to find someone on just a first name but with the mothers first name it could happen when examining birth records. They may be on microfilm depending on how long ago the birth took place.

I would go there, but its quite far from where I live... so yeah, I'm a bit stuck and don't know what to do next, or where to go!
