    Getting Rid of the toilet
    Hi,
I want to get rid of the toilet in my detached studio apartment because I am converting it to be a garage. Can I convert a sewer drain (toilet drain) to a floor drain?

    Thanks in advance

Yes you may. You will have to take up the floor and remove the closet bend.
You will then have to reduce the drain line down to 2 oir 3 inches and install a floor drain with a integral trap. You will also have to install the floor drain a little under the floor line so you can slope to it. Good luck, Tom

    Thanks Tom,
The room has a concrete slab, so I would have to tear up the concrete around it to accomplish this job, right?

That's correct. You will have to remove the bend under the cement in order to get to the horizontal drain line to install the floor drain. Also, you will have to break up the surrounding area enough to slope to the floor drain. Good luck, Tom
