The Check Engine Light is likely on, indicating that one or more codes are stored in memory of the ECM. Learn how to retrieve codes on OBD-I Toyotas.

I don't know how to do that... It's not the check engine light... it's like a car with backlights on type of light...

Check to see if the tail lights and turning signals work properly.

Check the brake lights. One or more of your rear brake lamps isn't lighting.

Both? There are four brake lamps plus the high-mounted lamp.
Two are located on the body and two are on the trunk lid. They must all be working properly for that warning lamp to be extinguished.

I thought you meant brake lights. I will have my roomie check the back lights. I figured that's what that meant.
