I poured a good amount of dishwasher liquid down the garbage disposal by mistake and now both sides of my sink are stopped up. Could the diswaher detergetnt have caused the problem? Is there a fix. For days I had suds coming up both sides. Now I have garbage as well as suds coming up and they won't go back down either side!!

No way! What it probably did was to make garbage buildup in your pipes so slippery that it simply slid down and bunched up into a clog. Of course that's just a guess.
What is not a guess is that you have a blockage in the Horzontal drain in the wall that must be snaked.
Clear the water remaining in the sink and remove the "J" bend from the trap. Now send a snake up inti the wall, (see image) You will run into a 90 about 8" in but once around that you only have 6 more feet to put out. Good luck, Tom
