I have had for a couple of weeks now a new 5 ton RUUD Achiever combined with a new Carrier inside coil (#CNPVP). My blower was not replaced: a gas RUUD Silhouette II.
Since day one, there has been a problem with the air compressor making an incredibly loud one time noise when it kicks on. It does not do it every time, but when it does, it scares the ****ens out of us. The tech came back and he heard it once, but did not fix it. This compressor cannot possibly last long with that kick jolt.

The lights dim as well.
Also: the suction line from the unit freezes over. But the kick noise happens when the line is not frozen as well as when it is frozen.
I paid @$5000 to replace an older RUUD with this equipment, and I really do not want it: it sounds dangerous.
