    Basement Bath Room Group
Hi, I would like to install a toilet in my basement, approximately 11 feet from the main sewer line. The main sewer line is 3 inches in diameter, there is a 1/12 inch vent line coming from the laundry sink drain line, My question is do I need to to vent the toilet? If I do can I tie into the 1/12 inch vent line? I was also thinking of putting a sink and a stand-up shower, do I need to vent those? And how do I go about doing that
    Thanks

If you're going to do it then do it right. Most bathroom groups are roughed in like this. EVERY FIXTURE that has a trap MUST be vented.
Toilet connects to sewer main. The toilet wet vents through the lavatory vent. Lavatory connects to toilet drain and runs a vent out the roof or revents back into a dry vent in the attic off the top the stubout tee. The shower connects to the lavatory drain and is wet vented by it. This is a normal rough in and is acceptable both by local and state codes but also The Standard Plumbing Code Book. Good luck, Tom
