Running 4 wire to a hot tub with 240 volt panel
I ran 4 wire to a hot tub spa requiring 249 volts ,after I connected to the gfci , I ran the wires to the spa panel and hooked up the two hot black and red to their destination and the ground I was left with the nuetral with no where to hook up on panel so I capped it .My question is this normal?

If the nameplate states 240 volts, the neutral is not needed. Cap it.

If it states 120/240 volts then the neutral is needed, and there will be a silver colored terminal, perhaps with other whites connected.

I will assume you used a 240V GFCI breaker panel designed to a spa. Yes? You should then have 4 wires to the control panel on the spa. Black to L1, red to L2, white to neutral and there should be a ground lug for the green wire. WWW.spadepot.com has wiring diagrams for 4 wire tubs.

TK is right if this is a true 240. Some units have a neutral feed for lighting at 120V
