I've never checked out angie's list but you could try there. Really, though, I can't imagine anyone looking for a painter anywhere but in a local ad or local yellow pages, or by word of mouth from friends, or maybe business cards put up on boards in shops around town. When you do have a job, you should also ask the owner if you can put a sign in front of their house.
