I have two Harbor Breeze Triton ceiling fans/light (item #233576)--neither have pull chains. One of the remotes stopped working, so I've been using the remote from the less frequently used fan (had to change the dips) for the one whose remote broke. I ordered a set of replacement remotes off eBay (was cheaper to get all three of them than to buy individually or to get a new receiver/remote)--they look exactly the same as my RC-103 remotes and even say Harbor Breeze on the bottom. However, none of the three remotes work. I had the dips placed appropriately, new battery, etc. and still get nothing. The FCCID numbers on the back are completely different than my original remotes (original FCCID = QJ4AS-CF125-F; new FCCID = KUJCE9103), but I thought these were "universal" and would work with any Harbor Breeze fan. What are the odds that all three new remotes don't work? Or, is it just that the new remotes aren't talking to the receiver in the fan? Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

Most are universal but some do transmit a different frequency. Do they work on any other fan? The receiver might be bad, not the transmitter.
