Hi I am a 52 year old and haven't had a period for almost 1 year have spotted off and on between. I just started to have a really heavy period 2 days agao and am still bleeding my third day. I use to have heavy periods.
Is this normal to stop and than have one this long after to be so heavy?

It's not uncommon - and it could be just about anything.

What does your gyno say? I would "assume" that if you haven't had a period in over a year you have consulted with one - ? If not, it's a good idea.
