What to do when your dog is vomiting and won't drink anything?
He's been vomiting since Sunday evening - took him to the vet Monday mornng and the Dr. said it was a stomach ache. They gave him shots and an oral lubricant. It seemed better once out of the Vet but last night he was back to vomiting. He hasn't been eating or driking anything since Monday morning. This morning I force him to drink some water. I called the Dr. and he's scheduled to for IVs... I still want to know if there are alternative measures.

On a usual day, he eats and drinks well, he's hyperactive, playful, loud, and happy.

Time for an x-ray, I'd say.

Since he has lost so much fluid, your vet is doing the right thing getting him onto an IV. This has been going on too long and death from dehydration can occur rapidly. If you have faith in your vet, allow him to run the tests he suggests. There are so many different reasons your pup may be ill that attempting any alternative measure is not a good idea at this time. Your dog's life depends on getting the proper medical care as soon as possible.
