My husband resently left me as he said he loved me but he wasn't in love with me. He got close to a female friend who he has known a long time. He assures me nothing happened. We are trying to get back together but we are still living apart. He has told me he has broken all frindship with her as he feels too much for me. I want him to come home but he says we need to date and get to know each other again. He comes round to see me and we have had days out. Is this the right for us to get our marriage back on track.

When he comes "round to see you" and you have days out - does this mean you are having sex with him? If so I'd tell him to decide if he's in the marriage or out of the marriage and then I'd go from there.

No we don't.

Dating is a very well respected method of counseling, one I personally recommend highly. Now of course he is not suppose to be dating anyone else, and he needed to have broken all other contacts.

Over months you build your relationship to see how you want it to progress.

This needs or at least should be done under the supervision of a counselor who will work independent and with you as a couple to keep communications going
