Need help... 8th grade science project on Hair dye *VS* hard/soft water??
Doing a science project on dyed hair using hard water and soft water to find out the effects the water has on the dye. In other words to see the outcome of the hair dye after using the hard water on 1 strand then soft water on another strand. Any help on how to do this or get started? Thank you.

Have you talked to anyone who owns or works at a beauty shop?

Have you done a literature review?

If you want to do this well and high-class, go to your local public library and talk with a reference librarian. Ask him/her to do a literature search for you, maybe using FirstSearch or whatever database is available. Find out what has been done in the past regarding tests with hard and soft water and how dyed hair reacts to either.

Did your cousin give you any anecdotal information? Certainly any shop owner or long-time beautician would be helpful for this project.

How do you plan to test the strands? Have you already decided on what conclusions your tests might get (hypothesis)?
