Am I having twins? People with twins please help!
I had an ultrasound done at 7 weeks and 2 days, it only showd one baby, there is only one heartbeat its 152. My hubby and I think there is more then one. The nurse kept saying twins but there's only one baby. I am 19 weeks and its my second pregenatcy, I have a daugter who is 9 months. I am pretty big for 19 weeks. I feel tired all the time, I have morningsickness thou out the day. I smell food I gag, and I lose my apatte easly. I am 18 years old. Twin's run on my mothers and fathers side, as well as my hubby's side. Can you tell if I am having Twins?

The only one that can tell is father time. If there is a second one then give them a chance to grow and not be so shy. Also if you are having twins its nothing like a single pregnancy so be very careful and listen to what your body is telling you. DO NOT ignore any signs of labor because you might think it too soon. Almost all multiple births are considered preemies until they catch up.

Are you due for another ultrasound soon? If so, most likely a twin pregnancy would be picked up. Your doctor would order another if they suspected you were getting larger than expected or if they felt they were picking up more than one heart beat during a routine check.

It is not unusual for you to be showing bigger now since you have already have had one baby, especially since it was not that long ago.

As far as a hereditary factor, it really only matters from your side of the family. This is because the majority of twins come about in one of two ways. Either a single fertilized egg splits (identical twins), or more commonly more than one egg is released and fertilized (fraternal twins and what can sometimes have a hereditary influence).

Enjoy your pregnancy... hope it continues to go smoothly and you find some relief soon from the morning sickness!
