Motion for judgement on the pleadings?
I'm scheduled to go to 'motion for judgement on the pleadings.' So far the collection agency filed a complaint and I filed an answer admitting what they are complaining. What is this motion for? What do they do? Is there any chance to reduce the amount I need to pay at this hearing? This is in NC.

Have you submitted a motion to modify the amount asked for ?

Do you have proof that the amount asked for is not correct according to the contract ?

No, I haven't. Yes, I signed the contract and the amount they are asking is correct. Is there any chance to reduce the amount if I submit a motion? If there is no chance, I'm considering signing off the consent judgement.

Normally the amount they will ask for is double or triple the original amount, With interest, penalties, legal fees, court fees all tacked on.

Have you tried to work out any payment agreement ? Many times if you appear in court, you can get a payment agreement approved, then as long as you keep up with that payment ( to the penny and to the day) it will hold off things like judgements
