My husband wants to start a business with me where we would both be working equally. He wants 60% control and me 40%. I don't feel it's an equal partnership with this type of split. I told him he could have 51% and be the one in control and me with 49% would just make me feel more important and motivated to do well. What do you think? Should I do it?

    Why not 50/50?
With 51% he still has 100% control.
If you agree to do equal work, make equal contributions you should be equally compensated and have equal control.

If he has 60% and you have 40% or even if you have 49%... you are just an employee (period). Anything less than an equal ownership (even 1% less) puts you in this situation, he has total control.
