My welll will humm if I hold them points but want pump up do I need to prime the well it is a sum

You don't prime a submersible pump. Use a voltmeter to make sure you are getting current from the control box to the pump. If you are, then suspect a bad pump.

Why are you having to hold the points closed? If the pump is not pumping, then pressure should be very low and the points should be closed.
