    Force, Torque
    A claw hammer is used to pry up a nail. Approximately how much force is applied to the nail when a force of 100 N is applied at an angle of 90 degrees to the end of the 35.2 cm long straight handle of the hammer?

    Since I don't know how to upload the diagram, I will try to describ it.
    There is a downward force 100N where you hold the hammer. Nail has has an upward force, F.
    The pivot point is somewhere along the hammer, O. The distance from O to the nail is X.

    Calculation:
    Sum of [T] = 0
    (100) (-35.2/100 ) + FX = 0
    F = 35.2/X

    Is this correct?
