Overdue for new Mirena, how would I do I'm pregnant?
I'm 43 and had my Mirena put in 6 years ago. My new insurance doesn't cover to removal or insertion of device. I had been putting it off to remove it. I still doesn't have a period and symptoms of PMS. Could I get pregnant?

The effectiveness from the hormones will be reduced so pregnancy chances will increase from what they were. While at 43 odds of a pregnancy are reduced, it may still be possible depending on whether you are ovulating on a regular basis. Best to use a back-up form of birth control until you can have the IUD replaced or if you decide on an alternative method from now on.

You might check with your doctor about being able to have a reduced fee, or have payment arrangements made.

If you have a planned parenthood, or other pregnancy related center, you might check with them about obtaining a new one.
