    Low ceiling installation
I just purchased a 48" Hampton Bay Tripoli ceiling fan. The box says "tri-mount installation perfect for low ceilings." No where in the instructions can I find how to install the fan for a low ceiling. Do I have to use the ball hanger arm? Is there any way to install without it? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

Did it come with two different lengths of downrods? With this fan, I expect the "tri-mount" is two downrod lengths and the ability to mount on a vaulted ceiling. But, I may be wrong. What's under the decorative canopy cover?

There is only one downrod and there are not two listed in the parts list. The decorative canopy cover is empty underneath. It does have what appears to be a removeable collar but there is no way to attach the fan motor to the ceiling mount without using the downrod. The ball part of the downrod does detatch from the downrod itself but nothing fits together without that downrod in place.

Send me a picture of the canopy (without decorative cover) and top of the motor. I've never seen one of these in person.

Well, I appreciate your willingness to help. Much better than King of Fans or Home Depot. I can't send you a picture because I got so frustrated that I had my boyfriend return the fan and exchange it for a flush-mount fan.

Thanks again for your help and quick responses!

Lol OK. I hope you got a Hunter flush mount and not a Hampton Bay.
