Hey I need to know if I am a holder of a green card in the united states how long will I have to stay before I could return to my home country for about six months? Any information related to this will be much helpful.thank you.

You need to live in US more than 6 months a year... and if you need to leave for a long period, file re-entry permit and make sure you get an approval before you go.
