What is it you would like to know. You provided us with a statement, not a question. We need more info to provide you with a more comprehensive answer.Quote:
suicide related to borderline personality disorder
I wish tickle would not have been shy about the way they really feel.
But you did not ask a question, of course there can be some relationship to many things, next who said it was borderline, was this from a doctor
Do you have a question?
[QUOTE=excon;2550813]Hello, ___________:
Personality disorders are NOT mental illness's, so there's no relationship between them and suicide. I have SEVERAL personality disorders, and I'm FINE with life.

Actually, exxy, personality disorders can turn into a form of mental illness. A person can display any one of a personality disorder and be outgoing and calm, friendly, intelligent for many years until a stressful situation such as a death of a loved one, a marriage breakup pushes them over the edge. At that time, someone noticing a difference/change in ADLs (activities of daily living) should have that person seek medical attention. In which case, psychotherapy (as in psychotic behavior being present) is recommended and meds are applied.
In some of these cases, as it is psychotic behavior, yes, I think could produce suicidal thoughts but maybe not carried out.
So you see, from my description, it is a form of mental illness.

I'm happy to move this to member discussions so that we can discuss it, but let's see if the person who originally posted will clarify what s/he is trying to get an answer to.
