Sound when turning off the ride on mower
    HI
I have a cub cadet gt2544 ride on lawn mower the mower goes well but when it comes to turning it off it starts to make a really loud banging sound and not just once like 5 times and I kind of get the feeling that its going to blow or something.

    Please help

    Hi,
Sounds like a bad ground in the key switch that cuts the engine off. Suggest that the switch replacement is the first thing to do.
    Peace,
    Clarke

    Could this be preignition?

Hey guys thanks for the answers

This mower is about 3 years old and we have been mowing and acre ever second or third week for the past 2 months and the land is really bumpy sometimes I nearly fall off because of this reason could this be a problem?

Are you talking about the engine making noise , or the mower deck ?

Sounds like maybe the fuel shut off solenoid isn't shutting off.
This would alloow gas to be shot into a hot cylinder causing a backfire.
Try bringing it to an idle and let run for about 30 seconds then shut down.
    LUCK
