Gas Furnace Heater will not start
The furnace turns on as air is blowing however the gas will not ignite. The problem seems to be with the pilot but the instructions on the furnace only states how to turn off and restart the furnace system. The gas valve switch has an on and off button and the instructions tell to turn it off for 5min with the electric system off and turn everything back on to troubleshoot. There isn't a knob like other furnaces to turn to pilot in order to re ignite the pilot. For an automatic pilot how would I be able to ignite the pilot again?

Electronic Ignition and its about 7+ years old. The manual states that the system does not have a pilot and do not try to ignite the fire by hand. A mechanic says that it's the circuit board and he tried replacing it but it doesn't seem to fix the problem

While I don't repair furnaces,I do some repairs on the basic problems. The most common problem is the hot surface ignition As electricity passes though it, it will heat up and glow white hot, a sensor then releases gas to the system for ignition. If its cracked it won't glow at all or if continuity is bad it will glow but not get hot enough to open valve. If the first time it failed the gas would have run for about 7-10 sec. and when it didn't ignite it went into lock out mode. I don't know if you tried resetting by shutting power for a minute or so, and there may also be a reset button on the circuit board. If after reset it still doesn't work, I shut power off to furnace and pull the hot surface device and have a appl. Parts store check it. When you remove it, avoid touching the element surface as that will shorten its life, if that turns out not to be the problem. Don't know if any of this helps, good luck
