After dropping the fuel tank to patch up some small holes, the car wouldn't start. The fuel pump kicks on when the key is turned but the computer is reading that there is an error with it. Is there something simple that I'm forgetting to check here?

Try disconnecting the fuel line either by the fuel filter or closer to the engine. This will assure your getting gas to the engine.
